Yesterday I re-started with clay and pink paint.
I’m still not done but I finally see the progress. ^_^
Today I will continue this part and if I’m lucky, the update on my Sumomo is finished too.
Next week I will stay home as I asked some days off.
With our backlog of 2,5 costumes and 3 acts, I will probably going to need the extra time! >_<”
But we are not giving up!

Latest thoughts and findings…
We discovered yesterday that the important piece of my dad’s cosplay was totally wrong. ![]()
Today I rushed to a carnival shop in Mechelen for that item.
They did not have it in stock but normally we will still have it in time.
When I arrived in Mechelen, there was a cheap 2nd handed mannequin / dress from for 30 euro.
These are always handy, so I bought it immediately.
Since it was clients day, Nivea gave free make-up advise. As I always believe that I can learn more, she assisted me.
The lady was very friendly and before I knew I was walking around with “basic” make up.
Arrived back home, very proud with what I bought but then my mood changed…
Francis contact me to advise me that some people in Holland did our R.E. act.
They stole our idea! ![]()
It is soo lame that they do not even do the effort (or at least try) to find something themselves! *mumbles*
If it is not a character, then it is an act they steal…
I just hope that someone honest is there to advise the jury.
It would not be fair to us (the creators) if they are going to mention that they came up with that idea…
There is still something that I believe which is also kind of important in the cosplay world: Respect.
If you would be descent and respectful, you would at least advise the person who came up with that idea. That way I would not mind but sneaking behind someone’s back, how unfriendly is that?!
And then some people keep asking me WHY I do not like to give my list of my planned characters.
Put you in my place, would you like it if they do stuff like this to you?
This is actually the second reason why I keep it for myself.
My first and MAIN reason is that I love to keep it as a surprise. ![]()
I love surprises and it is more fun that way!

Surprise
Yesterday I finally had the leave the house from my doctor.
I am still a little ill but the bad and worse part is over.
Before I left the office to go home, I received something from my manager.
He was so pleased with our hard work and I received a little bonus. ![]()
Not so much but it is nice when they appreciate your hard work.

WordPress continued
Yatta!! ![]()
Only my frost fairy has to be added but I have to find the drawing first!
I guess this is already not bad.
The best viewed option is 1024×768 resolution.
This place has a little minor faults but it is still okay.
Like the topics I have made, I put them all in the 1rst of January so they won’t appear in the dairy of September.
Still the dairy is cool!
WordPress
the website is almost finished.
I already spent 14 hours on this thing… *yawn*
Jack, Elizabeth and Lucia’s page still need to be made.
After that I can finally start with year 2008.
You see, that is why I mention the argument “time”.
When all this is finished I probably spend more than 30 hours on this space.
Hopefully it will be finished before the 26th because I still need to do some urgent Cosplay work!
If everything goes well, I will start with pale pink paint and clay.

Rumors
I heard that some thought that I won at Funiversum because of Max.
Max was NOT in the jury, so the result was NOT influenced.
If he was in the jury then I would not accept the price! :p
I even disagreed with the jury and I shared my price with another cosplayer.
Mainly because she already put a huge effort in her costume. ^_^
Although it was not finished, it already looked great and I have a lot respect that she wanted to make one of the most difficult cosplays there are!! *respect*
She had to be in the top 3 as this contest was purely for costume!
I am not saying that I or her should won first price…
It was the jury’s decision nothing can change that.
But I do believe that I made a little statement.
Rumors you have all the time and everywhere but there is a difference.
You can say something about someone just to notify the other person.
Like “try to be careful when you see that person” or something.
That is kind of okay but really talking bad about someone else?!
In the sense of ruining the credibility and trust?
No way, THAT is spreading evil rumors!!
Basically most rumors start because people are jealous or hathred.
I am not jealous at anyone.
If I would be, than I would not help people out or talk to them.
Being jealous because person X wins instead of you, how childish is that?
I am just glad for them because the jury liked their act and/or costume!
Haven’t you noticed that I always try to congratulate the winners? ![]()
When you did not won a price that does not mean that your cosplay is less.
But starting and spreading rumors, that is a little going-to-far for me!
I do not hate anyone.
There is only 1 person I do not like but that does not mean that I hate her.
Even then I am not interested to start talking bad behind her back.
I do admire one person. ![]()
She is not even Flemish, so that is something else.
Person XYZ inspired me.
Back on topic, sometimes I am glad that I am not on MSN or living near other cosplayers. Like they say: the less you know, the better.

Paris Manga 6
The convention was a mix between FACTS and Epitanime for visitors and space (total length of the place). It was indoor and hot.
Just like at Epitanime, you could see 2 type of cosplayers: sexy, almost nude vs. beautiful, unique cosplays. Personally my favorites were the Lady of the movie “”CURSE OF THE GOLDEN FLOWER “, the Saint Seiya and the Chocobo. There were more movie and video game cosplays than at Epitanime.
Once again the way this is organized is wonderful! They provide enough information, you can still ask more information if needed, everything is already planned/organized in detail. It is amazing!!
My mom and I stayed there for 6 hours. Because of the crowd, the heat, a head ache and our train we did not stay very long. During those 6 hours, 3 hours went to cosplay (confirmation subscription, changing clothes, standing/waiting in line, …) . Those other 3 hours was for: wandering around the convention, buying goodies, eating and posing for photos.
There were 34 participants for the individual contest.
I won 4th place best individual with my Sumomo.
To be honest I did not expect to win. I even said to my mom that day that I had a very amusing, fun day and it was very satisfying. Nevertheless it is always nice to receive a price for your hard work!
This time I even received a diploma! *blush*
Even if I did not won, it was a memorable day.
I had to chance/opportunity to be Sumomo and boy I had sooo much fun!!
It was allowed to be a little crazy that day and from time to time it is very nice to have a change instead of always having “serious”,”tough” cosplays!
Anyway, it was definitely worthy to discover this event.
We were both exhausted on the Thalys but glad that we went to this con.
A hectic, exhausting but a very pleasant day of fun and discovery!
Next time again to Paris Manga?
Certainly but hopefully we will have more time.
Pro’s:
- an early free entrance for participating cosplayers
- separate (F and M) changing rooms
- available food and drank
- the stage was 7 on 4
- several activities
- the 4th person and even the “coup de coeur” price, received a diploma!!
- the opportunity to use music and/or a video fragment
- fun competitions (see website) ![]()
- a space for photographers (black curtains were available)
- photographer had an early and a separate entrance
- the crowd has seats!!
- information on the website is clear and easy to find (program + location + address on the website)
- easy connection with the public transport
Con’s:
- too many visitors vs. small space
- again the story ” X amount people have an entrance”
=> if you did not have a pre-sale ticket, you could wait for a long time
- pre-sale tickets is a must but it was not clear which row was for which visitors (bought pre-sale tickets vs. none visitors)
- the doors opened around 10 A.M. for visitors ![]()
- not much unique variation of goodies
- not many food vendors
- when you participated the cosplay competition, you were divided into group behind the stage => unable to see anything of the performers
- the decor of the stage almost fell
- paparazzi photographers (welcome to Paris)
